All the Facebook Elements You Need to Know

Sometimes, the details just don’t matter, do they?
If everyone is coming over for your gumbo or coconut pie,
Maybe it doesn’t matter what drinks you’re serving.

Unless you want to create a truly awesome total experience 😉

In regular every day life, details often really matter.
Is that a quarter cup of sugar or salt?

That one really matters! 🤮

Do I turn left or right?
“It doesn’t matter, just get there.”

Well, to get there, I need accurate directions.
If I’m happy to wander…

That’s a totally different story.

In business, the details are often deal-breakers.
They’re everything.

Why?

Because money, revenue, and livelihoods are attached.

With Facebook, the details are vitally important.
Not only is $$$ involved,
But it’s also not the most intuitive system to get started with.
It’s complex, ya know?

So let me confirm the main Facebook identity details,

Because the terminology makes or breaks your success there.

Here are the main Facebook elements:

PROFILE
This is your personal account, where you use your feed and connect with “Friends”.
We never use this in advertising, because that is not compliant with FB rules.

PAGE
This is your business’ official identity, formerly commonly called a Fan Page.
This is “who” your ads come from to the public audience with advertising.
If a post says “Sponsored”, it’s an ad, and it’s from a Page, never a Profile.
Facebook now provides the Meta Business Suite to help manage your Page.

GROUP
This is a separate community area “owned” by a Profile or Page. It’s not a Page or a Profile.
This is where we ask questions privately.

Then these are the Advanced advertising related identities:

BUSINESS MANAGER
This is the umbrella adminstrative area that holds and manages your individual elements.
It acts as a “holding company” inside which you can manage your Ad accounts, Pages, Pixel and People.
Every business now needs a Business Manager to run ads.

ADS ACCOUNT
This is where your Ads Manager, Pixel and Events Manager and specifics to your ads are managed.
Ads Manager is the tool to create rich, full advertising, not Boost Posts. It’s your ads “Dashboard”.

ADMIN
This is a person who has complete control of your Business Manager and all Elements inside it.
You must always be an ADMIN of your own business’ advertising. Many people may be ADMINs.

EMPLOYEE
This is a person with limited controls of the Business Manager individual Elements.
ADMINs decide what access they can have. It’s good to limit access to most People.

Once you get these under your belt,
Then you can truly know how to machine works.

If you get the terms confused,
It creates even more confusion.

Even worse, it limits strategy and progress.

If you don’t know the basics of a main traffic tool,
How could you easily figure out the next best steps?

It serves you – you serve yourself! –

To get these details under your belt asap.

What are the most important details to your business?
Which ones of the absolute deal-breakers and cannot be ignored?
