When the best and worst things are happening at once

In business, sometimes the best thing we can do is just

To put things back into perspective.

During Mental Health Awareness Month,
This is still a great time to remind ourselves that

Everything is relative.

The other day, I was reminded how many times in my life
I’ve experienced the best and worst things all at once.

On a fun and light level, I remember when I first went

To a taping of The Voice soon after moving to LA.

What an amazing day:
Christina, Blake, CeeLo and Adam, all mere feet from me!
The Lights! Camera! Action! of Hollywood on full display!

The amazing singers and awe-inspiring renditions of songs.

And yet, it was such an awful, horrible experience.
The AC was blowing on us so horribly that I was sick for a month afterwards,

Not to mention shivering as if I were in Alaska throughout the whole thing.

We couldn’t go to the bathroom.
We couldn’t eat or drink anything.
We couldn’t warm up for even a damn second!

It was quite literally the best of times and the worst of times.

That was then, and life looks a little different now.

At the moment, we’re about to embark on a major renovation of our entire home.

Super exciting, because this was postponed from 2020 and you-know-what! 🦠

It’s so much work and there are 1000 decisions to make,

But it’s so much fun, because it’s our own vision!

Our home will be a total reflection of who we are and what we love.

And yet, just last week I also discovered that
One of my closest family members
Has received a very hard, very dire cancer diagnosis.

While hope lives, and everything is possible… this will not be easy.

Not for her, and sure not for her nearest and dearest.

And yet, the good continues while the bad continues too.
We can go through the best and worst at the same time.

The same is true in marketing and advertising.

This is why I work with people so closely on their Why,

On how they can stay connected to their audience.

Because they only reason to use powerful marketing and advertising

Is to reach and touch more people and create stronger relationships!

You do ads for your People!

It’s for them, not for you.
This is what brings results.

And the little, short-term uphill battles to figure it out?

They just become another simple part of your business.

Marketing and advertising is not rocket science.
It’s not curing cancer.

It doesn’t have to be so. very. heavy.

Will it be new and hard at first?

Maybe for a week or two.

Then you got it under your belt.

That’s it.

Perspective helps everything.
Everything!

In a few weeks, I’ll be starting a new Getting Started with Ads Challenge.

I’ll make it fun.

I’ll make sure it helps the beginners get started.
But remember, it’s not curing cancer or rocket science.

If I can do it, you can absolutely do it!

I’m just a former actor with a history degree who loved languages and theater.

No rocket scientists here…

Though I do have a distant cousin who literally is 😉
The nicest, most laid back guy in the world too.

He installs solar now – that’s his happy place.

Let’s make sure you reach everyone who matters
With your service or business,

So you can expand your own happy place in your business.

Don’t leave though – tell me now:

How do you keep the hardest things in perspective?

How do you keep your business challenges in perspective

To just keep moving forward?
And still do the big, important stuff?
