Why do you love this time of year?

Why do you love this time of year?

For me, it’s about slowing down, going deeper, giving differently.
I get to give others gifts I’ve considered they’d love.

I get to give others time I might not otherwise have had, to celebrate together.
I get to give myself more time to cook, bake, think, read, laugh, talk.

What do you get to give and receive,
Aside from the possible gift under the tree?

Still, so many do not have the luxuries of any of these things –

Especially people who do not have their own businesses, like you and me.

Are we the lucky ones?
I’d say so!

With that luck and joy comes much responsibility, certainly.
But the rewards are so endless,
Should we focus on them.

This is also our final week of the year for our first 50 Weeks of Giving! 🎉
I’m so proud of all the people who joined me along the way,
In giving, and celebrating, and informing me of their own giving goals.

Even the smallest something can be everything to someone
Who has so little of the basics in comparison to us.

Joy is one thing…
Love is one thing…
Basic needs are a whole other thing.

At this time of year,
Let’s focus for a moment not on animals, or the climate, or policies.
Let’s focus on people, and their greatest needs.

Can you imagine celebrating the holidays of your beliefs,
With no home, no gifts, no basics,
And perhaps just a few prized possessions you’ve somehow

Managed to escape with by Grace?
Consider gifting someone less lucky than you now here.

Most of all, enjoy your holidays, take time to enjoy every precious moment.
