But a post Apple iOS14 Update world! And with this new normal, come some important updates, that absolutely impacts you if youâre running or planning to run ads soon!
A few new important norms to consider:
#1Â For all those who have opted OUT of tracking: Content within Facebook appears unaffected
ACTION: Run more objectives that do not send people OFF of Facebook, such as Engagement and Video View ads. Of course, these are often lower priority due to targeting, so use your highest value CTAs, and track with more powerful alternatives off of the Ads Manager.
#2Â Consider more specific tracking for Conversions
ACTION: Use more detailed urls, such as yourdomain.com/lead-magnet-fb-ads, and also use these in conjunction with Tags inside your CRM/ESP. Then simply, compare your numbers inside and out of Ads Manager more often!
#3Â We need more time to import that workaround data for Apple results
ACTION: Give yourself at least 72 hours before collecting final results, and your aggregated events should show up by then.
#4Â Take 5-7 days to optimize for your objectives.
With less data flooding the system, we need just a little more time for more comprehensive info.
ACTION: Start earlier, test longer, run winners harder.
#5Â Tax info is now required for advertising on many platforms, this is especially true now if youâre in Canada, Mexico, New Zealand.
ACTION: Find out if youâre in a place where taxes now come into play. They still do not â yet! â in the US, though you will not be able to run new campaigns/ads until you update your tax info inside the system.
#6Â You may now use Non-aggregated, non-prioritized events. However, these will not show to those who have opted out.
ACTION: So find a better workaround that will serve you in the long-term. Use the aggregated events fully, and implement more comprehensive back end tracking. These options and actions are no longer really nice-to-haves. Theyâre definitely now must-haves.
